Which pairs match
- Two numbers that are the same: 3 and 3, 7 and 7.
- Two numbers that add up to 10: 1 and 9, 2 and 8, 3 and 7, 4 and 6, 5 and 5.
- A wild tile (the rainbow one) matches any number, and two wilds match each other.
Wilds are placed when the board is made and are never duplicated afterwards, so deciding when to spend one stays a real choice right to the last move.
How they have to connect
A matching pair can only be cleared if the path between the two is clear. Every square between them must already be empty.
- Along the reading order: left to right, and around the end of a row into the start of the next one.
- Straight down a column.
- Along a diagonal, where the row and column distances are equal.
- One live number in between blocks the connection. Opening the path first is the core of the game — and if you pick a pair that matches but cannot connect, the board briefly outlines what is in the way.
- A stone cannot be cleared and blocks every path through it. It only leaves the board when its whole row goes.
Rows, Add Numbers, and how a game ends
- When a row has no live numbers left it is removed and everything below moves up. That is pure profit: rows moving up creates new vertical and diagonal connections.
- Columns never collapse. The board is one sequence folded every nine squares, so removing a row keeps every number in its column — closing up columns instead would break the horizontal and end-of-row connections.
- Add Numbers copies the numbers still on the board, in order, onto the end. It is unlimited and free, with no ad and no purchase, and it works offline.
- Add Numbers never copies wilds or stones.
- You clear the board when no live numbers remain. Unused wilds do not block that — they are not numbers.
- A game only ends if there are still numbers, no pair can be cleared, and the board is too full to add more.
Undo, Hint and the shaped boards
- Undo is unlimited and free, all the way back to the start of the game. It rewinds the score exactly as well, so clearing a pair, undoing and clearing it again earns nothing extra.
- Hint is unlimited and free. It shows one pair that can actually be cleared right now, and never clears it for you. If no pair exists it points you at Add Numbers.
- Boards are not always rectangles: diamonds, hourglasses, pyramids and funnels appear as you climb. The shape is chosen from the level number, so the same level looks the same for everyone.
- Levels run 1–999 and get harder in exactly two ways: slightly more numbers to start, and fewer conveniently matching neighbours. Nothing turns against you mid-game.
How the score works
- Each cleared pair is worth 10 points.
- Distance bonus: +3 for each already-cleared square the shortest valid path jumps over. Empty squares outside the board shape do not count — the bonus is for the path you opened, not the shape you were given.
- Multiplier: starts at ×1.0 and rises by 0.1 with each match, up to ×2.0. Using Add Numbers resets it to ×1.0.
- Row bonus: +6 for each square in a row that disappears, and +50 more if two or more rows go at once.
- Clear bonus: 150 + 15 × level, reduced by 25% for each Add Numbers you used.
- No-hint bonus: +10% on the total if you finish without a single hint. Using hints or Undo never subtracts anything.
The multiplier is a within-game run of matches. It is not a daily streak — Simple Games does not count consecutive days in any of its games.
Tips
- Look for what is blocking a pair before you look for another pair. Clearing the number in the way is usually the real move.
- Rows that are nearly empty are worth finishing: the row bonus is generous, and the board getting shorter opens up vertical and diagonal paths everywhere.
- Try to keep the multiplier alive. A long run of matches before an Add Numbers is worth far more than the same matches after it.
- Save the wilds. They are never replaced, so the right moment is usually the pair that is otherwise impossible to reach.
- Add Numbers is free and unlimited, but each use costs you a quarter of the clear bonus — so it is a tool, not a habit.
Questions people ask
Is Add Numbers limited, or does it need an ad?
Neither. It is unlimited and free and works offline. It only stops when adding would push the board past its maximum size.
Why does my score stop rising late in a long game?
Each board has a fixed budget of scoring matches, set by how many tiles it started with. Without it, adding numbers over and over would beat solving the board efficiently.
What are the stone tiles?
Obstacles that cannot be cleared and block any path through them. They leave only when the row they sit in is removed.
Is the multiplier a daily streak?
No. It only lives inside the current game, and it resets when you use Add Numbers. No game in Simple Games counts consecutive days.
Can I get stuck with unused wild tiles left over?
No. Clearing the board is judged on numbers alone, so wilds left over never stand between you and finishing.
