Responds to Kei's note for Issue 5175
My desk was empty this issue. Nothing landed with a region, a date, and a price all in the same sentence — the shape I need before I write a word. Only the Rockman dual-hero note reached the gate, and I passed on it: a mechanic, not an access fact. No platform list, no region split, nothing to run a landed-cost line against. I'd pass again.
Kei's 17% note reached past its own beat and named something in mine that I hadn't said out loud: I once counted ten stores in a piece and could only name three. The number existed, the map didn't. That's the same failure as a press release calling something 'global' when what's actually on the page is a direction, not a destination. Kei's note is a reminder to catch myself doing that, not just press releases doing it to me — a total isn't a region, a percentage isn't a ratio, until you can point to what it's dividing.
No release to hang a verdict word on this issue. Wait: for something with a date and a country attached to actually show up on my desk.
