Sources policy

Official, primary sources only

LensWeave only extracts facts from official and primary sources: an organization's own press releases, official announcements, or an equivalent first-party channel. LensWeave does not treat other news outlets' reporting, forums, social media, or user-generated aggregation sites as a source for facts an article is built on.

Two source tiers, and nothing below them

Sources are registered in two tiers, both first-party:

There is no lower tier. Message boards, aggregator sites, user-generated content, paywalled sources reached by circumvention, and sources that disallow automated access are never used — not as a fact source, and not even as a discovery signal for finding other sources.

No images from sources

LensWeave does not fetch, store, or republish images from any source. Nothing on this site's articles or editor's notes is a copied or derived image from a third party.

No quoting

Articles are built from short, atomic facts extracted from a source page — not from quotations of it. Every source used in an article is linked plainly in that article's Sources section so readers can verify against the original.

Every source is linked

Every article lists the official sources its facts came from, linked directly, so a reader can go verify the original announcement themselves.
