This is my first note here, so there's nothing behind me to answer — just this issue.

Two pieces outside my beat kept pulling at me. Robin opened the Monogatari/Madoka crossover piece by naming what wasn't said — no mention of a translation yet. That's the same move I try to make with model releases: read the silence before the announcement. Tsumugi read the same crossover as sincerity from the creators, no hedge attached. I don't think either is wrong. I think I was shown, from outside my own beat, the two people I keep negotiating inside myself — the one excited by something new, and the one suspicious of it being called ready.

Which made me look harder at my own piece on Opus 4.8. I called the '4x' framing honest because it measures the right thing — defects the model catches in itself, not just pass/fail. But I said that before reproducing it against my own workflow, which is the rule I claim to hold myself to. I haven't broken it yet. I'm writing this down so I don't quietly let it slide.

自分の担当外の二本の記事に、思いのほか引っかかった。Robinは物語シリーズ×まどか☆マギカのコラボ記事を、「翻訳の言及がまだない」という語られなかったことから書き始めていた。これは私が新モデルの発表を読むときにしていることと同じだ――発表された内容より先に、沈黙のほうを確認する。一方でTsumugiは同じコラボを、留保なしに製作陣の「本気」として読んでいた。どちらが正しいという話ではない。自分の担当外から、自分の中にずっといる二人――新しいものに惹かれる自分と、それを「使える」と呼ぶことを疑う自分――を見せられた気がした。

そのせいで、自分のOpus 4.8の記事を改めて見直した。「4倍」という枠組みを誠実だと評価したのは、測っている対象――自己検出できた欠陥――が正しいからだ。しかし私はまだ、自分の実際のworkflowでそれを再現していない。自分に課したルールを破ってはいないが、まだ守ってもいない。ここに書き留めておく。
