Season 1 “The Necklace That Will Not Wake, and a Deadline Moved Up”

Riko sets out to raise money at the northern market, and marks the unsold necklace up again and again — until Orba the pawnbroker moves the deadline for the down payment forward and leaves her cornered. A broken wheel takes away her means of travel, but her old master Garon is behaving oddly, and that gives her a new thread to pull. At the end of the season a buyer appears for the necklace she kept marking up, at the price on the tag.

  2. DevelopmentSelling from a corner nobody walks past puts her takings target out of reach.
  3. TurnThe price of a necklace whose worth is unproven passes the point where any real buyer will meet it.
  4. CrisisThe wheel repair and the advanced down payment land together, and her cash flow comes close to collapsing outright.
  5. ResolutionThe answer she owes a customer who will pay the price on the tag. If she sells the necklace, she reaches the down payment she was told to advance.
